Joe Satterfield comes to Allison-Smith Company with over 27 years of experience in the electrical contracting industry. As President, he oversees estimating, budgeting, coordinating and scheduling electrical projects ranging in cost from $100 to over $30 million. While managing this effort, Joe enjoys mentoring project managers to become experts in the field.

Prior to his promotion as President at Allison-Smith, Joe first served as Project Manager in September of 1992 and was later promoted to Executive Vice President. In 1986, he served as Vice President at JD Electric, LLC. In 1973, he worked for Dixie Electric Company as an electrician, and later served as the purchasing and project manager.

Joe began his career in the electrical industry upon his discharge from the U.S. Army in 1973. He graduated from the I.B.E.W Local Union 613 J.A.T.C. Program in 1977. Joe maintains active involvement in several organizations where he continues to hold leadership positions. Currently, he serves as President for the National Electrical Contractors Association’s (NECA) Atlanta Chapter, a respected organization that supports electrical contracting businesses. From 2011 to 2012, he served as Treasurer for AECA. Joe received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Clayton State College.

Robert Jerrell serves at Allison-Smith Company with over 39 years of experience in the electrical contracting industry. As Chief Executive Officer (CEO), he oversees estimating, budgeting, coordinating and negotiating contracts for electrical projects ranging in cost from $100 to over $30 million.

Before being promoted to CEO at Allison-Smith, Robert served as an Executive Vice President after working as a Project Manager. Prior to becoming a Project Manager, he gained two decades of experience as one of Allison-Smith’s top field supervisors. His electrical experience includes extensive involvement in main switch sites, data centers, generator installation, both domestic and abroad, retail, high rise, rail transportation terminals, high voltage distribution, convention centers and hospitals. During his career, Robert has gained respect from his constituents because of his hands on field experience, his leadership and proven ability to assist in delivering bottom line results for client’s electrical needs. Robert began his career in the electrical industry after graduating from J.A.T.C. in 1978. Prior to J.A.T.C. Robert obtained a degree in Electric Technology from Atlanta Technical College in 1972.

Mr. Thomas began his career as a design engineer after graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in electrical engineering in 1974. His design experience included retail, high rise, rail transportation terminals, high voltage distribution, convention centers and shopping malls. In 1979, he started his career in electrical contracting at Eckardt Electric Co. where he focused on replacing power systems in Southern Bell central offices as part of the conversion from analog to digital telephone equipment.

In 1983, Mr. Thomas moved to Jacksonville, Florida to work for White Electric where he enjoyed an introduction to industrial work. He joined Allison-Smith Company LLC in 1986 as a project manager and served as executive vice president, president, and now chairman. Mr. Thomas led the company through a failed rollup and spearheaded the transition in ownership from an outside equity firm to 100% employee ownership.
